Frustrated With My Eyesight

There's not a whole lot I can do at this point in my life but, I get tired of having poor vision. I really noticed my frustrations of having poor vision last night. I was cooking on the grill on the back porch and the back light had burned out. I did not have a replacement bulb so I attempted to cook in the pitch blackness of the night. I was able to grab the large thigh and leg pieces of chicken with the tongs just by feeling a round with the utensil. What made me frustrated is that I could not even see the chicken at all. When lighting levels are low, I have to squint and move back from an object to try and perceive what it is that I am looking at. As my condition progresses so do my frustrations of having poor eyesight. Some day I will have a few extra dollars to get a professional eye exam done and perhaps get contact lenses. But, I'm not really convinced that they will eliminate my frustrations. Form what I have seen of people who wear them, there is a whole other set of obstacles to overcome. I'll never forget how frustrated my wife was when she dropped here contact and it went down the drain.
I have to say that as I get older I am getting frustrated with my eyesight. I am forty seven years old and a few years ago my vision began to deteriorate. When I began to notice what was happening I was very shocked at how fast the process accelerated. Now that I am paying attention to people around me, that are my age, I am noticing that wearing glass in your forties is a common thing. At first I was very opposed to being seen wearing glasses almost embarrassed to put them on in public.
But eventually I reached the point of either wearing them or not being able to see, especially if I was reading something. Finally, the reading glasses just became so much a part of who I am that if I don't have them with me, I am very uncomfortable. On more than one occasion I have left the house and realized that I forgot them and turned around and went back to the house to get them. Now, because I have purchased so many pair of reading glasses in the past seven years, I can usually find a pair around the house, at work or in the car.
Frustrations of Having Poor Vision
My Eyesight's Getting Worse
As I have been explaining some of the challenges that I am faced with concerning my vision, you can tell that my eyesight's getting worse. I guess until I have enough money to have Lasik Eye surgery done or get contacts I will have to learn to live with the challenges associated with poor vision. The answer for me, right now, is in accepting things as they are and living life on life's terms. So my eyesight's frustrating me, I should just get over it and live with the circumstances until I can afford other options.
I suppose that half of the people in the world are suffering from poor vision and many are frustrated with their eyesight as well. I guess it wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't notice the condition progressively getting worse. That's the biggest frustration associated with the deterioration of my vision. I would say that my eyesight's about 30% less clear than it was seven years ago at age forty. I hope by me just sharing a few of my frustrations that you get a few answers to some of your dilemmas about having blurred vision. In my case I have no money to go see an eye specialist so I am not sure what to do. I guess I'll just be patient.
